About Mark Haze
Mark Haze was a performer and songwriter long before the Idols platform was created.
Mark had been performing with his rock band, 12th Avenue for many years before his first solo song was released. A chance audition in Disneyworld, where he was convinced by friends and family to enter "The American Idol Experience" -- a shortened day-long version of the television show, saw, to his surprise, that the judges loved him and he ended up winning! This entitled Mark to a Golden Ticket, to go on to enter American Idol, but lack of funding meant that he couldn't return for the true audition. So when entries for the South African version of the franchise opened, Mark was eager to sign up. The rest is history, and Mark has been one of the most successful Idols contestants in the series.
