Four years ago, four men set out on a mission; a mission to open up a night club in Cape Town that is all about the music. A place where they can express themselves musically and creatively and do so with like - minded people.The mission did not start out on the easiest path, with
the law hot on their heels the first 6 months were very treacherous - so treacherous in fact that the club did not open and the dream (and money) was almost lost forever, but with persistence and passion the lads surged on to open... The Bang Bang Club.

The DJ Academy at The Vinyl Joint has been in operation since 2006.
BASEMENT JAXX
Since starting life as underground producers and party promoters in 1995, putting out their
first tracks on shrink wrapped vinyl and throwing hush-hush raves in abandoned South
London pizza joints, Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton, collectively known as Basement Jaxx,
have taken the sound of London, SW9 to the world.
