About SHARM / DJ

Having always walked to the beat of her own drums, Sharm's single minded mission is living her Truth with Pure Passion and soul enthused creativity, impacting the world, one frequency at a time. Sharm is South Africa’s 1^st Indian (proudly so) Female Techno DJ. The World’s her stage.

“It's been my experience that I can do anything I apply my heart and soul to. I am a DJ. It's my Free Spirit.”

“I’ve intuitively followed the unconventional for a female DJ'ing path. Thus far it's been about trusting my inner thrilling feeling when listening, playing music, writing and creating. It’s how I got to be in Flow.”

"Music has always been a significant part of my life. My parents were both musically inclined, including my granddad who was South Africa’s Hindu Drum (Thabla) Gold medallist during his time on earth. It’s definitely where I get my love for, as DJ's would describe, filthy baselines”

"Music was both Mom and Dad's creative passion. Whilst Dad was singing lead killing it onstage with his base guitar in a boy band, Mom continued her life-long music love affair. They went by the names of Sexy Elvis Presley and Earthy Cliff Richard. Story goes she grew up with the radio almost glued to her person. Hence, I was raised amongst all things musically creative.”

"It was during my teens that mom coerced me into taking piano lessons with the nice lady pianist from church. It lasted a few gruelling lessons and though I didn't get to play in church I certainly perfected "Old McDonald" and the piano keys. Little did I know that DJ'ing would be the KEY (note the pun) during a long and arduous search for my Authenticity."

"Later I tried my hand at the guitar and bongo drums. Loved it! Being an zealous dancer clinched my love affair with music really. I’ve experienced various dance eras and music genres that set the tone for a versatile artist, R & B, Rock, Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Blues and finally EDM. Dj’ing ultimately captured my everything. It's when I truly tuned into the Universe. It’s when I really listened with my every fibre of my being. Music unfailingly continues to excite me."

"My true passion for DJ'ing though has nothing to do with the specific genre I play and everything to do with “MUSIC (that) gets my soul DANCING”. Though, TECHNO would be my first love but ssssssshhhhh don’t’ tell anyone!"

"First and always a child of the Universe, soulful, uniquely insightful and mystically attuned to Light frequencies through my music. Clearly in Flow and mega excited to stir your world with SEKSItechno, SEKSIdeep, SEKSItechhouse and SEKSIhouse.” #SEKSI be my DJ Brand/Label.

“Further I also enjoy playing 60’s through to current trends. It’s all about the “music (that) gets my soul dancing.”

"As the saying on my tattoo goes 'Pure Love & Golden Light', always" SHARM
