About Shane D
Hailing from Durban in South Africa, Shane D is a veteran House Music DJ, Producer, Remixer, Record label owner and co-host alongside Grant Nelson on the world renowned Housecall radio show, delivering upfront, underground House music to over 3million listeners across the globe.With a firm footprint on the international House music scene, he’s been DJ’ing since 1993 and his sound has been described by his fans as being “a fresh mix of Funk, followed by a dash of Soul, with a hint of sex appeal, added together with grooves that will blow your knickers off.” He’s worked with, and performed alongside some of the best DJ’s and Producers in the world, including Steve “Silk” Hurley, Grant Nelson, Martin Ikin, Soulmagic, Richard Earnshaw, Cut Creator (LL Cool J’s DJ) and Graham Sahara to name a few, as well as having performed in major cities around the globe including Amsterdam, Portugal, Zurich, New York City, Hollywood Los Angeles and Dubai. In S.A, he’s played at just about every reputable venue, having held residencies at Skyybar, Origin, the original FTV, Rivets at the Hilton, the legendary Palladium from the mid to late 90’s, as well as having featured at 330, Tilt, Galaxy (Cape Town), Vibe (Swaziland) and numerous others around the country in the 23 years he’s been DJ’ing. He fast became one of the most in demand producers on the House music scene, sometimes using monikers like Ruff Ryder and Soul Divine for different types of productions. He’s worked with and produced remixes for some of music’s most successful artists including Shalamar, Kenny Lattimore, Faith Evans, Chaka Khan, Syleena Johnson, CeCe Peniston, Maurice Joshua, Keith Thompson, Marc Evans, Roland Clark, Lisa Millet, Brian Tappert, Grant Nelson, Richie Jones, Eric Kupper, Marshall Jefferson, John “Julius” Knight, Fast Eddie, Steve "Silk" Hurley, Chappell, Soulmagic, DJ Meme, Andy Ward, Ananda Project and many, many more. He’s had numerous Number 1 and Top 10 hits, on his own Stereo Flava Records imprint, as well as on some of the best labels in the business, including Soulfuric Records (US), Swing City (UK), Look At You Records (US), Soulmagic Records (Denmark), Purple Music (Switzerland), the infamous Hed Kandi/Ministry of Sound,
and numerous others.
