Saarkie
About Saarkie
Saarkie is a bilingual pop/rock band from Pretoria. Our band consists of four talented ladies: three graduated from the University of Pretoria (two with degrees in music) and the fourth is still in the process of completing her music studies.
In 2011 we launched our second album, Identiteit, which has thirteen Afrikaans tracks and two English tracks. The album also contains a collaboration song between Saarkie and renowned Afrikaans singer, Jan Blohm. Saarkie is currently busy recording their third album with guidance from Karin Zoid. The album will be released in 2013.
What do we have to offer? A show-stopping performance full of energy and fun appealing to a wide variety of audiences but especially popular amongst younger audiences.
We can supply our own sound and equipment – no worries! The needs and wants as well as the aim of the event are kept in mind when compiling the repertoire for each performance. We also do cover sets (sing other artists hits). The age of the audience also plays a role in terms of how hard the guitar strums are struck!
