About Dyno

Damon’s interest in electronic music sparked in the mid 90’s after listening to Carl Cox’s F.A.C.T album.

He fell in love with the bass lines, hypnotic build ups and breaks. After attending the first under ground warehouse party “MOTHER” he was hooked in becoming a DJ.

At the age of 17 Damon bought his first pair of turntables and a mixer, and quickly taught himself the art of beat mixing. Relentlessly practising every day he quickly developed a unique style behind the decks. His early influences to electronic music were the likes of Carl Cox, Mario Picatto, Neils Van Gogh, Toni Da Vit and Judge Jules. Due to this his style became progressive to hard House and Trance.

In 1999 Damon’s talent was soon discovered and he found himself playing guest slots at The Sound Factory, VIP, End street ESP, Nexus, Equinox, Tramps, Ibiza, H2O and at the legendary Fly House.

He proudly shared Dj line ups with the likes of: Nelson A.K.A Afroboogie; Dj Shaun; Surge; Dizzy; Derrick The Bandit; Spiro; Lady Lea; Ricardo Da Costa; Rodger D’Lux; Dj Kirsti and many more.

Starting 2000 off with a bang, after opening up the dance floor at Flyhouse for Dj Nelson A.K.A AfroBoogie a fan ran up to him and shouted “You’re Dynamite, your set was so explosive it blow my mind”. From that day forward Damon became known as the infamous Dj Dyno.

The following year Dyno grabbed 5th spot in Jo’burg after taking part in the “Dj’s Compete” Competition which had over 180 Dj’s entries. Dyno was a firm favourite throughout the competition with his solid mixing, versatile track selection and his energetic stage presence behind the decks.

2005 Dyno reinvented his style with the thought of an electric dynamo in mind that progresses in velocity and output energy (Electricity). Dyno soon became known for dropping huge electro tracks into his sets that shook dance floors all over SA.2006 Dyno launched Green House Productions, an underground production company hosting top class underground parties featuring SA’s top talent both established and up and coming. 2010 Dj Dyno made his international début when jetting off to Val Thorens in France.

To date Dj Dyno sets are being heard from Auckland New Zealand, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Frankfurt, San Diego, New York, Washington, New Jersey, Athens Greece, Madrid Spain and in Rio Brazil.
