Adrian Poulsen & The Harmonic Convergence of Jazziness

A dynamic new musical outfit, balancing classic style and sophistication with a cutting-edge trendiness, has launched onto the SA music scene.

Fronted by versatile vocalist and showman Adrian Poulsen, in collaboration with jazz maestro pianist and Berklee College of Music graduate David Cousins. It features a tight, adjustable combo of piano, upright bass, drums & saxophone, as well as the impressive option of adding a trio of dazzling close-harmony female vocalists to the mix.

Beautiful songs, old & new, delivered in a heartfelt embrace between melody and meaning; style and substance; old-fashioned swing and new-world sensibility. The varied repertoire ranges from timeless and enduring standards to intriguing pop re-creations in the jazz idiom.

Enthused by the stylish American songbook and musical theatre revival seen in Glee, Michael Bublé, Bruno Mars, Jamie Cullum, Peter Cincotti, Casey Abrams, Steve Tyrell, Rod Stewart and of course inspired by the very best of the legends: Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Tony Bennett, Mel Tormé, Chet Baker, Nat King Cole …… and all that jazz.

Here's entertainment with a decidedly theatrical edge, a harmonic convergence of performance and ambience; passion and fashion; sound, lights & action; the smooth, the groove; a smile and some classic style.

This "synchronious jazzification" is where young meets old, commercial appeal meets artistic fulfilment, and snazzy becomes jazzy, ultimately becoming a vibrationally-satisfying experience for all within the sound of the melodious message, as it is spread around the world (and as far as Pluto, which used to be a planet and is now just a sleeping satellite).

The dimensions of the musical ingredients are build-up-able and break-down-able in size; from 4-piece (male vox, piano, drums, double bass) to 5-piece (add sax) to 7-piece (with the 3 female vocals) to 13-piece (add 3-piece brass section, 3-piece string section) depending on budget. And then we can still add a rousing gospel choir! The line-up and repertoire can be tailored and adapted to suit specific audience preferences, demographics and purposes.

Performances are available across the board from jazz clubs, restaurants, theatres, hotels and casinos to weddings, bar mitzvahs, parties, launches and corporate events
