Regarded as one of the grandmasters of House in his native land of Turkey, DJE started out in 1997 with deep house music in London, from a small West end bar called Sessions. He then went on to travel the world spreading his love for the soul in some of the top nightclubs in New York, Chicago, London, Vienna, Frankfurt, Vilnius, Kaunas, Minsk, Durban and Cape Town and has performed around the globe alongside the likes of Kenny Hawkes, Luke Solomon, Jonny Rock, Mark Farina, Greenskeepers, Colette, Martin Solveig, Barbara Tucker, Kevin Yost, C-Rock and Jef-K.
Recently he has added a few more ingredients to his music like Disco, Nudisco, Mid-temp, Slow-mo, Funk to spice’n up the groove… with this other direction he has played along with Severino Panzetta (Horse Meet Disco), Riccio (Super Value), Matthias Aguayo, Humberto (Social Disco Club), Jame Curd, Lovefingers (ESP) and Lee Douglas (ESP).
“At the moment the “in” scene of Istanbul is Dance-Bar & Lounges’. Famous DJs have started flying in during the week besides the weekends to play at these places that have excellent sound-systems for you to get your boogie on. This fine music-mecca’s are all within walking distance to each other and are located in the “Beyoglu”…which is like the Soho of NYC & London in Istanbul. They have all acclaimed global recognition and people who know their business travelÅŸing to Istanbul definitely end up in at least on of them. These places which I also regularly spin are “Otto”, “Lokal”, “Minimuzikhol” & “Flavio” . You can count on the who’s who of the trendy Istanbul underground scene to give attendance to these places while also catching the likes of Todd Terje on a Thursday night gig.”

A few words from the man himself…
“I still remember the day when the 8-track Akai Quadrophic entered our House!” It was the newest thing on the market. When I look back now I can see that my dads interest in music & sound played a major role in my dj’ing career.
I would compile all the good tunes I had on tape & cd and make mixed compilations tapes to friends…only the sound and type of music that meant something to me. When I moved to London in`95, I found myself immediately at home. All kinds of sounds; namely house music was being originated from this point (everyone knows it first came from the famous ware’house party’s in the USA by DJ’s T. Humphries, F. Knuckles…etc) with a new flavour.
Deep House, Vocal House, Funky House & House had become my sound!
