DJ Triple D — Sounds Vital
Not only is DJ Triple D or Oscar to some, a phenomenal DJ, he has he’s own professional, audio and video company, Sounds Vital.

Oscar is one of the youngest professional DJ’s currently in South Africa, but he’s talent, commitment and all round proficiency reveals the years of experience he indeed has behind he’s name. He’s played at various well known venues and clubs such as, Fashion TV, Tempo’s, Cat Walk, News Cafe and the Domestic Pro 20 Cricket Series for 2008/2009, just to name a few.
Working both small functions and events on a bigger scale, Oscar’s all round aptitude and style remains flawless as he performs at he’s best on every level. He’s company Sounds Vital is also growing at a pleasing rate and due to Oscar’s energy and diligence there is no doubt that DJ Triple D and Sounds Vital will continue to provide excellent service and entertainment to audiences in years to come.
What is your favourite style of playing?
My favourite style of music to play is progressive house, deep house, house, electro house and acid jazz.
What has been your favourite venue to perform at so far?
Favourite venue to play at would have to be O’Hagan’s Saint Patrick’s Day.
At what age did you know that this was exactly what you wanted to be doing and how did you get started?
At the age of sixteen, I am a very outgoing person, really enjoy entertaining people and have always had a passion for music, through DJing I was able to satisfy both.
You are currently studying to be a sound engineer, is this correct? What aspect of sound engineering do you most enjoy?
I am currently studying to be a sound engineer, I enjoy live sound the best as there is always an element of excitement, and I work well under pressure and gain great satisfaction from a job well done.
Do you have any plans to produce in the future?
I am passionate about DJing but do not see myself producing my own music however at the end of this year 2009 I will be qualified with a Protools 210V operator allowing me to help others in producing their own music.
Are there any DJ’s or artists that inspire you in the industry?
I have been inspired locally by “DJ Mickey Pereira“
Growing up what or who were your influences in the music world?
Growing up I was influenced by Moby, Ferry Coosten, George Martin and Deadmau5.
You have had many years experience in the industry and yet you are one of the youngest DJ’s. What aspect about you or your company ‘Sounds Vital’ do you think makes you unique and keeps people wanting more?
I think what makes me unique as well as my company is that I am an extremely hard worker, reliable, always offer extremely good prices, every time I earn money I put it straight back into my company in order to expand my business. I am extremely passionate about what I do and have been fortunate to study sound engineering and make it my career. I am constantly open to new ideas, buying new equipment, and expanding my abilities to do bigger and better events by supplying sound, lighting and video.
What do you like to do when it’s time to just chill out?
I am constantly on the go with new ideas and find working with my hands and being creative helps me to relax and chill out other than that I enjoy a good meal and a movie.
What is the one thing that not many people know about you?
I have built Sounds Vital from the ground up without any outside financial help and only being twenty years old I am extremely happy with the way my business is growing.
