Electronic music is ever-evolving, a realm in which new things are always coming along to shake up the established order. Chris Sen is one of the top emerging talents in the South African dance scene and he’s definitely shaking things up. The 25 year old has enjoyed a highly prolific 2008 and 2009; in the last two years we have seen him deliver a slew of influential releases on some of the country’s top dance compilations. It is clear that his talents and passions are one and the same thing: music.

Chris has DJd at some of the best clubs around the country throughout Cape Town and Gauteng. “Reading the crowd is a key element, as you can not only play one style of music”. Chris always has a variety of music, from dance, radio hits and classics that will have everybody asking for more.

This youngster has accomplished what most people hope to in a lifetime. He has played for crowds of thousands alongside all the top artists in the country. You will find his music in the bags of the country’s biggest DJs and his tracks have been remixed by some of the world’s hottest producers.

Chris is a self-confessed perfectionist and the evidence of this lies in the standard of his production – which is, literally, jaw-dropping. Chris’ modesty and down-to-earth personality proves that he remains unaffected by the transient trappings of fame.

His interest in the mechanics of production started three years ago, when he started playing around with music software in his free time. Chris’ advanced progression is an indication of his natural musical aptitude, and it has only just began.

Chris’ productions and music style are best described as a cord-led alchemy of the ethereal and industrial. His production is characterized as clean, clear sounds and clever progressive elements – warm baselines and washes of synth sounds, both rhythmic and mesmerizing. His productions are supported by none other than DJ Fresh, Lady Lea, Ricardo Da Costa and Dean Fuel to name a few.
