The Great Escape is an open air art and dance festival for open minded people, a festival celebrating a wide variety of talented musicians. This is not just a festival but a gathering of like minded people supporting the art and culture our generation has created.
The Great Escape was born in 2005 and has become an annual excursion for all lovers of the outdoors, wonderful people and vibes and the best in futuristic dance music. Experience creativity and dance in a mind blowing outdoor atmosphere. Enjoy a twisted journey under the stars and lose yourself to the best live acts, dj’s and performers. We have had the pleasure of hosting some phenomenal guests such as Shift, Hydrophonic, DMMT, Artifakt, Kara Mahl, Xatrik, Zion Linguist and Phyx. We have hosted bands and artists such as Godfather Didg, UFO, Achimota, Spoken Word, Shani, Firefly Technics, Azanian Flames, Rumour, iGrooves, Kid of Doom and Isochronous.
Thank you to everyone that has made Pebble Rock Ranch such an amazing place for our annual Escape. A true testament to a real festival which we all deserve. We look forward to seeing you all again this year for a weekend of losing ourselves and having a good old shakedown. We always try something new and interesting and try different things at each festival, this year will be no different. Go along the N1 towards Pretoria, take the N1 Pietersburg split towards Pretoria East. Take the N4 turnoff to Witbank, there is a R20 toll fee on this stretch of highway. Go past the first (R568) Bronkhorstspruit West, Kempton Park (R25) Industria off ramp and take the next (R42) Bronkhorstspruit East, Groblersdal, Delmas off ramp; you will see the Buddhist temple on the right hand side of the highway before the off ramp. Turn left and * go over the traffic lights and go over the 4 way stop street, travel until you see signs to turn right to Vlakfontein (signs to Ezemvelo), go along dirt road for 3,5km and turn right, travel 2 km and turn left into Pebble Rock Ranch.
To avoid tollgate:
To avoid the toll gate take the Hans Strijdom off ramp along the N4, go left through the traffic circle. At the stop street go right, carry on with this road till you go through Bronkhorstspruit. When you get to the 4 way stop street go left and follow directions as per above from the 4 way stop on the (R42).
Alternative directions:
From Airport follow the (R21) towards Pretoria, Take the (R25) offramp and turn towards Bronkhorstspruit. Go for 15km’s until T-Junction. Turn right into Delmas drive. Go for 1.5km till 4-way intersection. Turn left and travel till you pass the Buddhist Temple on your left, go over the (N4) Hi-way and follow directions above from here *
