Terry Francis has had a meteoric rise to fame since winning Muzik Magazines ‘Best New DJ’ in 1997.
15 years on and Francis is recognized as one of Britain’s Top DJ’s although he’d been blazing a trail through the underground for no less than ten years before the world at large sat up and took notice. His music blurs the lines between the past and the present with flawless mixing skills and his instinctive ability to work a crowd with a kind of shimmering techno sensibility. He fuses House and Techno with spasms of deep dubby house, celestial breaks and ethereal vocals.
His album ‘Architecture’ was the beginning of what the dance world calls Tech House today and a stack of solid productions put his production career on the map, but it’s his residency at London club Fabric since its doors opened that has continually underlined his dual position as scene-stayer and tastemaker. His sets have been a much anticipated feature on the bill throughout Fabric’s history. An unwitting ambassador of the tech-house scene, Francis has been in constant demand as a touring DJ.
