About DJ Redwood
Redwood stated DJing in 1997 playing dance music at house parties on the classic vinyl turntables.
He turned professional in 1999 when he got is first public paid resident weekly slot at a bar/nightclub called Babushka in the London West End playing dance music.
He then returned to South Africa after 2 years and found regular DJ gigs at the legendary 206, Carfax and Reality night clubs, and in the process building his name locally especially in the Dance and Hip Hop cultures becoming the countries top scratch DJ AND beatboxer.
He went on to become South African DJ Champion 4 years in a row (2003/4/6/7) and in 2007 represented South Africa at the DMC World DJ Championships. He placed 13 out of a possible 22 of the worlds best.
Since then he has evolved his style to accommodate for every genre, from old classics from the 60's, 70's 80's 90's 2000's to the more modern rock and electronic dance music. This new found musical versatility enabled DJ Redwood to perform for countless private functions (such as birthdays 21st's, 30th's, 40th's etc and weddings)

Keeping up with the new hits on a weekly basis, having thousands of songs on hand and over 17 years of DJing experience, there is no audience that this DJ can't satisfy.

Amongst the endless list of night clubs throughout South Africa, he has also performed at South Africa’s largest music festivals such as Oppikoppi, Woodstock, Rustlers and H20 on numerous occasions and also on 5fm, UJfm and YFm radio stations.
