Biography

Sterra’s childhood dream was to make music and to play for an audience. Through those early years Sterra did everything he could to establish his dreams, until finally he was able to buy a microphone, stand and a djemba drum. With these tools he was able to play at many clubs and thereby making his mark in the industry. After a few performances, Natural Groove approached Sterra to be their resident percussionist. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Career Highlights

•Sterra worked with top local DJ Lady Lea on a song which was released in 2009 on the “Start a Party with J&B” CD Compilation feat 10 top S.A DJ’s. It was also released on Lady Lea’s Divas on Desk Vol 1 album.

•He has played backing instruments for Sofasonke Youth Club and also provided lead vocals for the group called Vibe Circle.

•Sterra, with his group, struck a deal with recording company, Frontline to release his debut album called Vibe Mission.

•Sterra started a career in radio (Trans Africa Radio DSTV channel 73 audio bouquet) as a content producer, music compiler and news editor.

•Sterra plays regularly at H20 and has also performed live on Roger goode’s Saturday Surgery.

•Recently Sterra has produced a radio show called the Beat Route Show on Sound Republic Dance web Radio.

Sterra currently holds residencies at Nicci Beach in Boksburg and F.EU (Dj Fresh and Euphonik) Parties at Vacca Matta, Monte Casino.
