Born in the UK and educated at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire, Dave has performed across the globe with a variety of ensembles and artists. By the age of 16, he had performed at London’s ‘Royal Albert Hall’, ‘Royal Festival Hall’ and on BBC1, BBC2, and BBC Radio.
By the age of 20, he had performed at the world famous ‘Ronnie Scott’s’ with legendary trumpeter Randy Brecker, and was touring original music released through the London-based label; ‘Acid Jazz Records’.
Since arriving in South Africa, he has become one of Johannesburg’s most demanded session saxophone players and in 2010, could be seen performing with the likes of; Loyiso, Danny K, Emanuel Castis and Timothy Moloi. In March, he toured with Jason Hartman as support for Kelly Clarkson in the South African leg of her world tour.
Later in the same year, Dave performed at the ‘2010 SAMA’s’ (South African Music Awards) for the featured artists during the international broadcast and in the run up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, he was invited to join the ‘FIFA 2010 Kick-Off Concert’ house band. In doing so, he performed with John Legend, The Black Eyed Peas, Hugh Masekela and the Soweto Gospel Choir to a TV audience of over 1.5 billion people.
Based in Johannesburg, Dave has travelled the length of the country and throughout the continent with both local and international DJ’s.
